BROKEN TAIL-SHAFT.
PROGRESS DISABLED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, April 30. The steamer Progress, bound from Lyttelton to Wellington, broke her tailshaft in Cook Strait to-night. She signalled the Beacon Hill signal station with a morse lamp. The Harbour Board tug Tola left immediately, and Is expected to reach the Progress at midnight and take her in tow.
