L HALF AN INCH OF RAIN. 1 Half an inch of rain fell in Geraldine on Good Friday. Mr B. R. 5 Macdonald. “Waitui,” recorded 5 points * for the twenty-four hours ended 9 J a.m. on Friday, and -45 points for the ! twenty-four hours ended 9 a.m. on Saturday. 1 Although Saturday dawned fine, 1 threatening clouds covered the sky during the greater part of the day. HOLIDAY TRAFFIC. There was a greater amount of Easter traffic on the road on Saturday than on Friday, although most of the cars were probably “through” travellers, and there appears to be an absence of day excursionists. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs E. A. Scott. Timaru, is spending a holiday in Geraldine. Mrs Wm. Bell and Miss Vera Bell, Geraldine, are spending the Easter holidays at Akaroa. PICTURES TO-NIGHT. The chief attraction at the Municipal Theatre to-night, will be “Undertow,” an exciting melodrama, featuring Mary Nolan as heroine. A good supporting programme includes a two-reel comedy, cartoon and gazette.
