CHRISTIAN BROTHERS. A two-day match between Celtic seniors and Christian Brothers (Dunedin), was commenced at Anzac Square wicket on Saturday. Celtic batted first, and compiled 120. S. Mason and R. Mason opened, and the score stood at 41 when R. Mason, who contributed 30, sent an easy one into Dawson’s hands at point. Kane joined Mason, and the two added 60 before Kane was beaten by a slow ball from Brooks. S. Mason was sent to the bank a minute later when Carhill broke through his stern defence. Celtic then collapsed, Harding scoring 9 and making the best impression. Christian Brothers commenced their innings at 5 p.m., and at 5.30, when stumps were drawn, they had 2 wickets down for 27.
