MURDER OF JUDGE.
SERVANT CONFESSES CRIME. United Press Association— By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 20, 7.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 20. A group of attorneys and witnesses awaiting in the hearing room for the appearance of a wealthy real-estate owner to begin proceedings involving his property were startled at the sudden entrance of a man trembling with excitement, who asked, “who is Judge Cornelius Kahlen? He won’t be down. I just killed him.” The man produced a blood-stained screwdriver. Judge Kahlen’s wife, who was present, became hysterical. The amazed lawyers sent the police to Kahlen’s flat, where he was found dead with numerous stab wounds. The murderer revealed that he had been the victim’s servant for many years. He described himself as a sympathetic friend of Mrs Kahlen, and killed his employer for he believed he was attempting to go to Germany with his money, leaving his wife destitute.
