Lyttelton Mar. 27 NOTES. The Opihi sailed yesterday afternoon, after loading general cargo for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. The Calm ha 6 been put back a day. and is now due to arrive on Saturday from Oamaru to load for Wellington and Wanganui. 'the Breeze and the Storm for similar operations, are listed to arrive on Monday and Wednesday respectively. The motor vessel Port Waikato should be here to-morrow from Dunedin for Tauranga. Auckland, Whangaret and Dargaville loading. The Holmdale, on the Wellington and Wanganui run, is set down to make Tlmaru on Tuesday. The Progress and the John, for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato, are scheduled to arrive on Monday and Friday respectively. The Canopus, with 900 tons of coal from the West Coast is due to arrive on Monday from Westport. The Kaimai is listed to load at Dunedin on Wednesday for Tlmaru, Lyttelton, New Plymouth, Westport and Greymouth. The Kiwitea was to have left Auckland yesterday for South Island ports, Including Tlmaru. Overseas. The Somerset, at present at Port Chalmers, should be here on Sunday. She has a cargo of general London merchandise for discharge at this port. The Cornwall is due at Timaru from Wellington about 26th March to load meat and general cargo for London and Continental ports. The vessel proceeds to Gisborne and Auckland, sailing Anally via Panama on 13th April. The Orari left Liverpool on 15th March for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. Timaru and Dunedin. She is due at Timaru about 6th May. Provisional figures show that 58.083.575 net register tons of shipping used the Port of London during 1930. This represents an increase of over 500,000 net register tons over the total for 1929, and is a record for any calendar year in the history of the Port of London. Year after year shows an increase, and this in spite of the depressed conditions of trade all over the world.
