NAPIER TRAMWAY LOANS— By Telegraph—Press Association NAPIER, March 19. Although Napier’s tramways service will probably not be restored, interest and sinking fund on the eight loans, totalling £158,341, which were raised for the venture, will have to be met. “Legislation will probably legalise the deferment and depreciation reserve, but not the interest,” said the Commissioner, Mr J. S. Barton. “It is possible the deferment of the sinking fund also will be legalised, but the interest will certainly go on. The Borough will meet all its liabilities.”
