GERALDINE.
A QUIET THURSDAY. A very quiet half-day was experienced yesterday, and there was comparatively little on in the township. Conditions were somewhat chilly. BOY SCOUTS AND CAMPING. An invitation has been extended to the Geraldine Boy Scout troop by Mr. R. J. McKeown, Woodbury, suggesting that they should camp on his property at Easter. HEADER HARVESTER. A header-harvester which has been operating on the property of Mr R. McLeod, Raukapuka, has attracted considerable interest. It is probably the first combination of its kind that has been used in the Geraldine district. QUINNAT PROVIDE SPORT. Quinnat salmon in the Rangitata have provided quite good sport during the past week or so, and catches from 19 to 221 b. are reported. Mr J. G. Stevens, a veteran angler of Pleasant Point was successful in catching a 19 pounder. Mr E. Cholerton, representing John R. Proctor’s Ltd., the Premier Opticians of Christchurch, will be making another Professional visit to Geraldine on Wednesday, March 25th, and may be consulted at the Crown Hotel on that date
