FIRES.
BIX OUTBREAKS IN POVERTY BAY. By Telegraph—Press Association GISBORNE, March 5. Six outbreaks of fire have occurred in country districts around Gisborne in the past week. These include the homes of G. Price, of Otokc (insured for £500), W. Braybrook, of Patutaki (£285), Waaka Clark. of Tokomaru Bay (insurance unavailable), N. Law, of Tiniroti (£500), Mrs M. J. Kirk’s store Manutuke (£6OO on the building and £2OO on the stock), the Post Office store at Frasertown, owned by Kennett (insurance unavailable). The last named building was heavily stocked, while the contents, including mail, were lost.
