BOXING.
TIMARU ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Timaru Boxing Association was held last evening. Present— Messrs J. Bohm (chairman), A. N. Oakey, J. Dineen, C. E. Triggs, W. W. Best, W. Cuthbertson, T. E. Segar, J. J Stewart, and M. J. Angland (hon. secretary). Correspondence was received from Lachie Macdonald, advising having defeated Tommy Mclnness, at Te Aroha, on Saturday evening. Macdonald further advised that he would arrive in Timaru on Saturday. Mr Chas. Barrie, trainer of Alan Campbell, wrote making application for permission to give exhibition bouts at Timaru, Waimate and Oamaru. —The application was granted.
Mr W. O’Connor, on behalf of Lachie Macdonald, asked for permission to take part in an exhibition bout on Monday evening in Timaru.—Granted. Mr G. P. Aldridge (secretary of the New Zealand Boxing Association, advised that in all probability the New Zealand Association and the Wellington Association would be represented at the Camp bell-Macdonald bout. The Match Committee reported that all arrangements were complete for the tourney on the 12th inst. On the recommendation of the Committee, the following officials were appointed:—Professional bout, referee, Mr Joe Stewart; judges, Messrs T. Segar and C. Campbell; amateur bouts, referee, Mr T. Segar; judges, Messrs E. G. Kerr and E. Barwaker; timekeepers, Messrs J. O’Leary and L. E. Eaton; honorary surgeons, Doctors Ulrich and Fraser; ring stewards, Messrs A. N. Oakey, J. Dineen, R. McGlashan, C. E. Triggs and W. Cuthbertson; official seconds, Messrs A. Clarke, H. Gledhill, and W. Weston; stage stewards, Messrs Best, ■ Moore and Head.
