OFFER TO LANDOWNERS.

To the Editor of the “ Tlmaru Herald.'* Sir, —In these days when thoughts turn to work for unemployed and help for farmers, etc., I have wondered whether this plan would meet the need: A man recently offered his time and experience for three days a week on a farm that had been left on the mortgagee’s hands, if the latter would allow the use of a house and some of the land to get the worker’s own living out of. This would not be dear labour, if skilful and conscientious, and the plan would get more out of the land for the mortgagee and put a man off the unemployed ranks. I, for one, would take it on if I had the chance, and would make it pay for both sides. If anyone has these means, and wants to help, they can come to you for my address. —I am, etc., SLOGGER.
