WINTER’S BLAST IN BRITAIN.

Worst Storm for Years. SERIOUS LOSS OF LIFE FEARED. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph— Copyright LONDON, March 2. Many lives were lost in the winter’s bleakest week-end blizzard, accompanied by lightning, sweeping the whole country, covering London and the South of England with several inches of snow. The Iraseburgh lifeboatmen were unable to launch their lifeboat in the mountainous seas, and watched a Dutch trawler upside down, dashing against the rocks in a terrific storm on the Aberdeenshire coast. It is believed the whole crew of fourteen perished. Three men were washed out of a fishing boat and drowned in the blizzard. _ A Northumberland trawler from Aberdeen was wrecked and the crew were saved by the rocket apparatus. Numerous car accidents occurred.
