THE WEATHER.
Dominion Meteorologist. The anti-cyclone which recently has been centred to north has extended southward, and to-day it has been covering the whole of the Dominion. The depression over the Tasman Sea has decreased in extent, but is still of cyclonic form between Norfolk Island and the Queensland coast. Expect winds variable, but mainly northerlies at first, moderate generally, but freshening, and changing soon to southerlies south from Cook strait. Seas rather rough about Cook and Poveaux Straits; otherwise smooth to moderate. Weather still for the most part fair to fine, but showers developing in northern and southern extremities of the Dominion, and cloud Increasing generally. Temperatures warm but becoming cooler shortly in the South Island.
