CRICKET.
NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. August 22. At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night, it was decided to make further applications to the New South Wales Cricket Association for a refund of income tax on the M.C.C. match. It was decided to recommend Associations at the annual meeting to adopt the bigger wickets for Plunket Shield matches this season. In the meantime, the secretary was instructed to write to the major Associations to get their views on the matter. The chairman pointed out that if a team went to England it would have to use bigger wickets, and the players should therefore have experience with them here this season.
