PERSONAL.
The funeral of the late Mr R. H. Bowie, who resided in Timaru for a great many years, and who died in Auckland on Sunday last, took place yesterday. Prior to the cortege leaving for the cemetery, a service was conducted at Chalmers Church by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes, assisted by the Rev. W. Bower Black, of Christchurch, a nephew of the deceased, and j the Rev. A. Begg, of St. Paul's, Highfield. A representative assemblage of citizens at the graveside testified to the esteem In which the late Mr Bowie was held. The pall bearers were Messrs W. H. Walton, sen., J. Hutchison. F. R. Flatman, D. Davies, Charters and Cuthbert. There were many floral tributes.
