SOCIAL NOTES.

Miss Phyllis Pigott is the guest of Mrs N. K. Cox, Wai-iti Road. Miss Cox, Nile Street, will leave today for Christchurch. Miss Kiore King, who is the guest of Miss Fox, Wai-iti Road, will return to Christchurch to-day. Mrs C. S . Bruce, Douglas Street, will leave to-day on a visit to Christchurch.

Miss Marjorie Edgar-Jones, “Otiritiri,” is expected back from North Canterbury to-day. Miss Elsie Goldie arrived from Invercargill yesterday, to spend a few days with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. Goldie, “Ardgour,” Sealy Street. Lieutenant John Elworthy, who is staying with Mr and Mrs A. S. Elworthy, Holme Station, will return to-day to Wellington. Mr and Mrs H. Sinclair-Thomson (Park Lane), Mr and Mrs Derrick Gould (Christchurch), and Mr and Mrs Peter Hall (Christchurch) will leave to-day for the Hermitage. Mr and Mrs Bruce Murray (Godley Peaks) and Mr and Mrs Gerald Murray (Glenmore), who are staying with Mrs J. Scott, Cannington, will return home to-day. Mr and Mrs J. C. Guinness, and Miss Mary Ferguson (Arrowtown), who are staying with Mrs Edgar Jones, “Otiritiri,” will return to “Farmleigh,” Ealing, to-day. Toomey. “Craigmore,” with its brilliantly lit rooms and artistic decorations, was a scene of great enjoyment last night, when Mr and Mrs Herbert Elworthy gave a delightful dance in honour of the marriage of their daughter Rona to Mi* A. P. White (Hawke’s Bay). Dancing took place in the hall and drawing room, which were gaily decorated with wattle, Japonica, health, and freezias.
