EMPIRE PROBLEMS.

BIG TASK OF IMPERIAL CONFERENCE. United Press vcsociatlon —By Electric Telegraph- -^^yright I/JNDON, August 3. There is much conjecture whether the Labour Cabinet will follow the precedents of the Naval and Egyptian Conferences, and hold a number of public sessions of the Imperial Conference. However. Government circles are disposed to think that the Conference will be wholly in camera, with periodic issues of communiques. It is admitted that new circumstances exist owing to a Labour Government being in power here and in Australia; also that the whole personnel of the Conference will probably be new, with the exception of General Hertzog, but the fact that many ticklish problems are awaiting settlement, especially in the economic and constitutional realms, induces well-informed persons to predict that the bulk of the business will be thrashed out in the Committee rooms.
