WOOD—SCOTT. A pretty wedding was solemnised on July 23rd, at the residence of the bride’s parents, when Winifred Amelia, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. L. Scott, of Warepa, was united in holy matrimony to John, son of Mr and Mrs W. Wood. Rev. W. R. Hume was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful sleeveless frock of lemon georgette, with uneven hemline and trimmed with salmon pink ap ,o <nued with beads. She wore the customary veil and orange blossoms, and carried a white satin prayer book. She wore shoes and hose to tone. The bride was attended by her sister Olive as bridesmaid, who wore a pretty frock of green crepe de chene and beige lace, with shoes and hose to match. Mr Leslie Scott, brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man. After the wedding ceremony, the guests, numbering about 30, adjourned to partake of a wedding repast. After toasts were duly honoured, the happy couple left on their honeymoon tour and received a rousing send-off. The bride travelled in a neat tweed costume, with brown coat, hat, shoes and hose to tone. A dance was held after the wedding to conclude a happy day. Games, interspersed with dances—and one and all voted it a very happy function. Prior to her marriage the bride was entertained by the residents of Warepa district at a kitchen evening, and numerous were the useful gifts received. The newly-weds intend residing in the district in the meantime. McGRATH—BOLTON. On Wednesday, July 23, at St. Mary’s Church, Timaru, a pretty wedding was solemnised by the Rev. H. W. Monaghan, the contracting parties being Rose Louise, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Bolton, of Church Street, Timaru, to Percival Albert, fifth son of the late Mr and Mrs McGrath, late of Oamaru and Dunedin. The bride looked charming as she entered the church on the arm of her father. She wore a model frock of ivory georgette, beautifully trimmed with pearls and diamente trimming, and wore a veil embroidered with horseshoes and a coronet orange blossom, and silver shoes and stockings. She carried a shower bouquet of winter roses, fresias, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister Minnie, as chief bridesmaid, and Miss Myrtle Lucas, who were attired alike in model frocks of blue crepe de chene, with head bands of silver leaves and biscuit coloured stockings and black satin shoes. They also carried bouquets of winter roses, fresias and maidenhair fern. Little Vera Silverlock made a dainty flower girl, her frock being pink crepe de chene, with puffsleeves, and scalloped hem. On her hair she wore a garland of roses, and pink stockings and shoes to match completed the ensemble. She carried a gold basket of cream roses and fern with streamers to tone. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr H. McGrath, of Christchurch, as best man, and Mr H. Holmes, of Normanby, was groomsman. The bridegroom’s gift ro the bride was a gold wristlet watch, to the bridesmaids necklaces, and the wee flower girl received a gold bangle.

After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Oxford by the bride’s mother, who wore a frock of brown marocain relieved with fawn, with hat and coat tc tone. She carried a bouquet of violets and fresias. The bride’s grandmother (Mrs A. Barnett) wore a becoming coat of black satin, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of violets and winter roses. Later in the day Mr and Mrs McGrath left for the south, the latter wearing a wine-coloured costume and hat, shoes and stockings to tone. She also wore a beautiful fox fur.
