PETROL PROFITS.
RETAILERS’ HARVEST. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, August 4. Retailers of petrol in Christchurch aer reaping a good harvest at the expense of motorists. Their profit is Id a gallon more than they made before the imposition of the additional tax. Oil companies, it is stated have notified retailers that the price of bulk petrol would be advanced by 2d per gallon, they having agreed to bear Id of the extra tax. Despite that retailers are selling at 2/1 and 2/- instead of 2/- and 1/11.
