SCHOOL ATHLETICS.
BIG INSTITUTION UNDER CLOUD. United Pr*ss Association—By Electric Telegrapn—Copyright SYDNEY, August 2. It was announced yesterday that the Sydney High School, winners of the last head of the river race, were to have the title taken from them. The Sydney Grammar School was also disqualified, in spite of the fact that the school did not have a crew in the finals. The action is said to have followed a secret report by the Committee of great public school masters on alleged irregularities in schools’ training methods. The title of head of river goes to St. Joseph’s College. This decision, however, is to be reviewed next week. Now the Sydney High School has announced its retirement from great public school sport activities until the good name of the famous school is cleared.
