WRIT FOR INVERCARGILL TO-DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. July 23. The Minister in charge of the Electoral Department (Hon. H. Atmore), announced to-day that the writ for the Invercargill by-election would be issued to-morrow. Nominations will close on Friday, August Ist, and the polling day will be Wednesday, August 13th. The Maori Seat. It seems likely that the by-election for filling the Western Maori seat may be deferred some little time. Documentary evidence of the death of Sir Maui Pomare is being still awaited from California. The election will probably be delayed until after the obsequies.
