HEAT WAVE.
UNITED STATES SUFFERS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 22, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. July 21. The United States continues to suffer in a protracted heat wave, with temperatures ranging near lOOdeg. in most areas. New York City registered the official mark of 139 deg. in the sun. Deaths due to heat are numerous, with a great toll indirectly due to high temperatures. Crops and herbs are suffering most severely. The Canadian weather forecasts state that the grain crops in Canada will be seriously damaged, unless relief is prompt.
