DRAGGED OVERBOARD.
FISHERMEN S NARROW ESCAPE. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 22. Two brothers named W. and K. Janovich narrowly escaped drowning when swept overboard off a fishing launch near Cape Colville. One caught his fingers in the mesh of a net and was dragged overboard with it. His brother, in trying to check the run of the net, followed him into the sea. Both men kicked off their sea boots and swam after the launch, which was travelling at nine knots, but eventually had to stop. Luckily, a third member of the crew emerged from the engineroom and heard his shipmates’ cries from far astern. Eventually both were got aboard again unharmed
