SHEARING STRIKE DOES NOT MATERIALISE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 17, 9.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 17. The general strike that was feared among shearers, owing to the reduction of waggs, has not materialised. The majority of sheds are carrying on under the new rates, but the unions’ attitude upon the award will be determined during the coming week-end.
