LATE SIR J. G. WARD
FAMILY’S APPRECIATION OF FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 17. The Prime Minister has received from Sir Cyril Ward, on behalf of the whole family, grateful appreciation of the Government’s arrangements in connection with the State funeral of Sir Joseph Ward. Particular mention is made of the railway, police, military and motor transport arrangements, and of the services of the permanent head of the Prime Minister’s Department, the secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, and Mr Ardell, of the Internal Affairs Department. The reverence and dignity with which the whole funeral arrangements were organised and carried out, says Sir Cyril Ward, proved, indeed, a very great comfort to the family in their bereavement.
