MINIATURE RIFLES.
ASHDYKE CLUB. On Tuesday night the Washdyke Club fired the first round for a trophy donated by Mr J. Smith. A large percentage of members was present and some of the 1 best scores off the rifle were:— P. Couper 79, D. Doak 78. J. King 77. A. Ross 77, R. Moore 76, D. Anderson 75, W. Grant 75, P. Applegarth 75, W. Dawe 72, F. Jackson 72, D. Stocker 72. With their handicaps, L. Stocker, P. Couper, D. Doak and D. Anderson secured possibles. The second round of this trophy will be fired next week, m conjunction with the third round of the “Herald Shield.” During the evening Mr Woods referred to the recent death of the mother-in-law of Mr S. Browne, the secretary of the Club, and a vote of sympathy was passed to Mr Browne.
