JUNE WEATHER
RAINFALL RECORDS. The following records of rainfall for June have been taken in different parts of the district:— Mr D. N. Harper. Timaru Park:— Rain fell on seven days, the total for the month being 64 points, as against 5.33 inches for June of last year. The fall for the six months just ended totalled 9.45 inches, as against 12i inches for the corresponding period last year. Mr H. W. Bishop, Lyalldale:—There were six days with rain, the heaviest fall of a total of 52 points, being 20 points on June 29. Mr G. L. Twentyman, Seadown:— The total for the month was 64 points. There were seven days with rain, 29 points on June 21 being the heaviest fall. Mr J. L. White, Winchester: —Rain fell on seven days, a total of 89 points, compared with 5.27 inches last June. The total for the year to date was 15.06 inches (last year 13.91 inches). Mr S. Wooffindin, Pleasant Point:— Rain fell on five days during June', the heaviest fall being on June 21, when 31 points were recorded. The total for the month was 62 points. Mr A. J. Blakiston, Orari Gorge:— The fall for the month was 1.27 inches with seven days with rain, the maximum fall being 56 points on June 21. In June last year, there were 6.12 inches, with twelve days’ rain. The fall for the past six months was 23.43 inches, as against 18.38 inches for the corresponding period last year.
