LARGE COAL EXPORT.
BIGGEST IN Id MONTHS. NEWCASTLE SHIPMENTS. The largest amount of coal (including ships’ bunkers) to be shipped from Newcastle, New South Wales, for more than 15 months was exported from that port during June. In that month 136,845 tons were shipped to places beyond New South Wales. Had is not been for the floods which occurred during the last fortnight of the month, the total quantity exported would probably have exceded 200,000 tons. Foreign countries took 12,600 tons, and the remainder was for Commonwealth and New Zealand ports. Details:—
