CUSTOMS ENTRIES.
PROTEST AGAINST NEW SYSTEM. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 16. A deputation from the Wellington Chamber of Commerce waited upon the Prime Minister to-night, and protested against a departure from the previous practice in regard to acceptance of Customs entries. The Hon. G. W. Forbes said the Government desired to adopt a system fair in operation, and promised to discuss the matter with the Comptroller of Customs. The Comptroller, -who was present, said the Department thought the method adopted was the best that could be evolved in the circumstances.
