POWER BOARDS
OFFICERS' CONFERENCE OPENS. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. July 15. The annual conference of Power Board secretaries and executive officers was opened to-day by Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., president of the Boards and Authorities Association. Mr George Brown (Wairarapa) dealt with Power Board trading and mistaken criticism; also the place of power in the life of the community. They would, he said, look forward to the future with confidence. Mr Rodgers, chairman of the Southland Board, said he thought they would agree with him that the best interests of the Dominion would be served when a Government Electrical Commission or authority controlled the whole of the generation in the Dominion, and Boards were the sole distributing authorities.
