FIRES.
HORSES AND STABLE BURNED. By Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, July 14. Six farm horses were burnt to death when a fire broke out in stables on the property of Mr E. A. Clement, Conical Hills. It is understood that a lighted lantern was left hanging in the stables and this must have exploded, or in some other manner set fire to the roof. The building was soon a raging inferno, and in addition to the horses, the stables, some harness, and a quantity of chaff were totally destroyed. How much would it cost you to replace your dwelling if it were destroyed by fire to-night? Would your present insurance cover the loss? If not, consult the Mercantile and General Insurance Co., Ltd., corner Hereford and Liverpool Streets, Christchurch
