THE WHEAT DUTIES
FIXED BY PARLIAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Assxviatinn CHRISTCHURCH, July 14. A statement of the Government’s attitude toward the question of wheat duties was made this evening by the Prime Minister (Hon. G. W. Forbes). “A decision was reached at the last session of Parliament, following the report of the special commission set up to investigate the position,” he said. “By that decision, the crop being sown at the present time is sown on the understanding that the present position will be maintained.”
