ST. ANDREWS.
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. The monthly meeting of the .St. Andrews Women’s Institute was held on Thursday afternoon. Mrs Mills presided over an attendance of twentytwo. Six new members were elected. Miss Hassell, of Timaru, gave a most interesting demonstration of glovemaking, which was fully appreciated. Afternoon tea -was served by Mesdanies Dellow, Duggan, and Miss Hay who were hostesses for this occasion. A novel competition was won by Mrs Wilkes. At the next meeting Miss Carter will demonstrate sealing-ivax work and crepe paper flower making. EUCHRE PARTY. There was a good attendance at the fortnightly euchre party in the Public Hall on Friday night in aid of the school funds. The winners of the first prizes were Mrs A. O Loughlin and Mr T. O’Loughlin, and the consolation prizes were won by Mi's P. Kane, and Mr L. O’Loughlin. THE RAINFALL. The rainfall for the 48 hours ending 9 a.m. on Friday was .32in.
