UNEMPLOYMENT
DECREASE IN REGISTRATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 11. There was a decrease of 46 over the previous week’s figures in the number of unemployed registered in New Zealand for the week ended July 7. according to a statement by the Minister of Labour (Hon. G. S. Smith) to-day. The week’s total was 5445, and details of registrations at Labour Bureaux and Post Offices are as follows: Auckland, with dependents 806, without dependents 665. Wellington, with 363. without 281. Christchurch, with 523. without 377. Dunedin, with 222, without 142. Invercargill, with 68, without 77. The totals for the five centres (with figures for the previous week in parentheses) are:— Auckland. 1471 (1517). Wellington, 644 (686). Christchurch, 890 (868). Dunedin, 364 (308). Invercargill, 145 (140).
