PERSONAL. Mr Bitchener M.P., will proceed south to-day to attend the funeral of the late Sirf Joseph Ward at Bluff on Sunday. He will return that day by the midnight express. ODDFELLOWS’ BALL. The ball -if the Waimate Manchester Unity of Oddfellows was held on Thursday night and was most successful, between 30 and 60 couples taking part in the grand march. Several of the Mackenzie football team were present. An innovation was the introduction of a radio-gramophone kindiy loaned far the occasion, all extra dances and several musical items during supper, being supplied by this method. Lucky spot waltzes were won by Bro, F. J. Bailey and partner, and Mr N. Anderson and Miss Tamblyn. The duties of M.O. were carried out by D.P.G. Bro. Bailey and P, Grylls.
