ATHLETICS.

TEMUKA-TO-TIMARU ROAD RACE THE TEAMS COMPETITION. The annual Temuka-to-Timaru Harrier Race, which is to start at 3 p.m. to-day from the Temuka Post Office, has attracted a record entry of nearly one hundred. Competitors from Christchurch (3 teams), Dunedin (2 teams), and all the Timaru Clubs will take part. The winner is expected to reach the finishing point, at the Caroline Bay rotunda shortly after 4 p.m.

In additiqn to the contest for individual honours —fastest time and a sealed handicap—great interest is centred in the teams race, for which eleven teams have been nominated. In this points will be scored by the first five runners in each team. The entries in this competition are as follows: Christchurch (No. 1 Team) —B. A. Barrer (captain), R. M. Barrer, J. D. Pascoe, H.
