Two Hundred Men Entombed. DESPERATE RESCUE EFFORTS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, July 9. Two hundred miners were entombed following a coal gas explosion at Hausdorf. It is feared that the death roll will be heavy. Desperate efforts are being made to rescue the imprisoned men. DEATH ROLL INCREASES. PATHETIC SCENES AT PIT-HEAD. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 10, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 10. Hausdorf advices state that sixtyseven bodies have been recovered, and forty-eight miners brought to the surface suffering from poisoning. These have been sent to hospital. Seventy-three miners are still underground, and there is little hope of saving them. After the explosion, clouds of poisonous coal dust swept the passages. Scores of men were caught by choking fumes and collapsed and died on the spot. Hundreds of weeping women and children are crowded round the pithead, at which there were many heart-rendering scenes.
