CABLE RATES.
REDUCTION IN CHARGES ESSENTIAL. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright VANCOUVER, July 9. A Royal Commission to investigate the feasibility of cheaper cable rates across the Pacific, was promised by the Premier (Mr Mackenzie King), in an election address here. He said radio telephony would also be studied. This, in conjunction with cheaper, communication was made necessary by the greater trade of Canada across the Pacific. Negotiations for a greater Australian trade agreement would be launched.
