AUDITOR'S CERTIFICATE CRITICISED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 9. The opinion that the auditor’s certificate should deal with facts only .was placed on record at a recent meeting of the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. 'l'lie prospectus of a proposed limited liability company embodying a certificate from an auditor regarding the future profits of the company, was before the meeting. It was resolved to communicate with the auditor. asking for an explanation, and indicating tha,t in the opinion of the Executive Committee the certificate should cover facts, and stating that as the future profits were problematical.’the giving of certificates was considered unprofessional.
