She is to pick up general cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. The Waipiata, on the Wellington and Auckland run, is listed for Thursday from Oamaru. t Overseas. The Kent is expected to leave Timaru this morning for Lyttelton, and should sail finally from New Zealand on July 20. The Port Fremantle, for Homeward loading at Timaru, is scheduled to arrive on Monday next. The Argyllshire is expected to load meat and wool for the United Kingdom at this port on July 31. The Rotorua, for similar loading, is expected about August 5. During May there were 20 motorships completed in various shipyards throughout the world—a larger number than has previously been recorded (reports “The Motor-ship”). They totalled 118,000 tons gross. Six were tankers, ten were cargo ships, and four were passenger vessels. It is apparent already that the number and tonnage of oil-engined vessels completed during the course of 1930 wall be far in excess of the corresponding figure recorded in any previous year.
