Rioting In Wiesbaden. ANTI-SEPARATIST DEMONSTRATIONS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright COLOGNE. July 5. There were anti-Separatist riots in Wiesbaden last night, and these were renewed in the morning. Shops were sacked and a number of persons were injured. REGRET AT ATTACKS. MESSAGE FROM M. BRIAND. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, July 5. M. Briand has informed the German Ambassador that France regrets and resents attacks in the Rhineland upon persons alleged to have been friendly with the French. He pointed out that Germany had agreed to prevent the persecution of Separatists. FURTHER SAVAGE ATTACKS. VIGOROUS POLICE MEASURES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 7, 7.30 p.m.) BERLIN, July 6. Further savage attacks on the Separatists occurred at Wiesbaden. The police once had to charge the mob with drawn sabres, but they were unable to prevent the sacking of shops and houses. tobacconist and his son were nearly beaten to death, and vengeance was wreaked on girls and women who had associated with the French. Om was badly mauled, and had her clothes reduced to tatters.
Mainz is now quiet, but the policehad to draw a cordon round the centre of the town to stop the traffic in order to check the wreckers and looters.
