CURE THAT KILLED
USE OF DEADLY CULTURES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, July 6. Fifty infants, treated by the Calmette process are now dead in Lubeck. The Government's investigators are satisfied that the blame is not attached to the Calmette-Pasteur Institute. It is thought that either by accident or carelessness the cultures became polluted. The investigators are hampered, as Professor Deyke, head of the - Lubeck Hospital threw away all preparations ready in the laboratory when the first infant died, qs he wished to destroy the source of further harm, but forgot to call in supplies already in the hands of private physicians, who continued to administer them to infants. Professor Deyke’s conduct is the suzject of a special investigation ordered by the Public Prosecutor.
