ADVERTISING POWER SUPPLY.
A DOMINION SCHEME. SUPPORT FOR PROPOSAL. The Electricity Department of the Timaru Borough Council recently received a communication from the Electric Power Boards’ and Supply , Authorities’ Association of New Zealand, making a special appeal to support a national advertising scheme. The letter stated that so far over forty of the supply authorities had accepted the scheme, and the contracts in hand total approximately £5,500 of the total : £B.OOO to be subscribed. It was desired that the contracts in hand should total £7,000. so that the campaign j might be commenced immediately. To enable this amount to be reached, it , would be necessary for the Timaru Borough Council to sanction their j share of the cost, which amounts to j £3l/0/8 per year, making a total of j £93/2/- for the whole of the three , years’ campaign. This contribution, ; along with three others, would enable ; the campaign to be started in Auck- . land, Poverty Bay. Wellington, Can- ! terbury, Marlborough and the West j Coast of the South Island, leaving out ; Taranaki. Otago and Southland. The Council decided to support the j scheme.
