PATRONAL FESTIVAL.
ST. PETER’S CHURCH, KENSINGTON. The activities to mark the patronal festival of St. Peter’s Church Kensington opened on Saturday with a party for the children of the Sunday School. A very enjoyable time was spent in games, items, etc. Special services were held on Sunday. In the morning there was a family service. The church was crowded with children and adults. The singing was assisted by the children’s choir and the preacher was the Rev. W. S. Southward. Festal evensong was sung in the evening. Mr G. H. Andrews rendered the solo “O How Lovely are Thy Dwelling” and the vicar of the parish ithe Rev. H. W. Monaghan) preached the sermon. The church, which was appropriately decorated, was again full. On Monday night a concert and social was held in the hall, the attendance was good. The following contributed items which were well receivea. —Mr Porter, Misses Olive Greenall. Begg, Sheehan. Grant and Mrs Wood (songs); Miss Joan Greenall (dance and recitations); Miss Spavin (dance). Mr Inglis Todd delighted the audience with several violin olos and Mr Malcolm kept them in fits of laughter with humorous monologue'# At the conclusion cf the concert Mr Moflatt moved a hearty vote of thanks to the performers, and also to Messrs Begg and Co. for the use of the piano. The motion was carried with acclamation. Mr Southward expressed thanks to Mrs McCann for the able way she had organised the concert, and also to Mesdames Hall and Moffatt. Misses Hall and Moffatt and other ladies, who had charge of the supper arrangements on both days: to those who had helped to decorate the church, .and generally helDed to make the festival a success. The audience again showed their appreciation by acclamation. Supper, the cutting of a birthday cake, and Auld Lang Syne brought a happy evening to a close. ,
