ROMANCE OF GRETNA GREEN.
MAY BE ABOLISHED. (United Press Association—By Electno Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received June 1, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 31. The romance of Gretna Green may soon come under the Government axe. The Ministry is contemplating legislation against marriages by Scottish Law officers, and is framing a Bill to meet the complaints of the Church of Scotland and others regarding the ceremony at the famous smithy.
