SINISTER HINT TO FRANCE. (United Press Association—By Ksctrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received June 1, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, May 31. The debate on foreign affairs has Opened in the Senate. Signor Schanzer said the French mentality in regard to Italy, must be modified. Parity was not only a symbol. It was an international moral principle, and was an expression of mutual confidence between nations. Signor Grand! will speak on Monday. INSULT TO ITALY. GRAVE EXCITEMENT AT INNISFAIL. (United Press Association—Bv Klectna Telegraph—Copyright.) BRISBANE, May 31. A message from Townsville states that the removal of the Italian Coat of Arms from outside the Vice-Consul-ate at Innisfail, for the second time, Is accepted by the Italians in Northern Queensland as a gross insult. Intense excitment exists at Innisfail, where it is considered that complications may develop as a consequence of the outrage. The Italian Consul has lodged a protest with the Federal and State authorities, and has transmitted a cabled report of the affair to Signor Mussolini.
[Following a similar Incident about two years ago, great excitement prevailed among the numerous Italian residents of Queensland, but the trouble was brought to a close when it was proved that the incident was in the nature of a foolish prank by some larrikins.]
