HARRIERS.
TIMARU ANGLICAN CLUB. The Timaru Anglican Harrier Club held a handicap race at the Washdyke racecourse on Saturday afternoon, fine weather making the occasion very i pleasant. The total distance was six miles. Fifteen runners faced the starter. The race, which was run before a good number of spectators, commenced at 3 o’clock, the limit men being G. Taylor and C. Cullen. Bennetts went to' the front on the second round, making the pace very fast. Then came H. Preston and G. Valentine. At the start of the fifth round, R. J. Taylor went to the front, followed closely by G. Valentine, G. Broadhead and H. Preston. The race provided an exciting finish. The . placings were:—
