HOCKEY.
SATURDAY’S MATCHES. The following are the results of Saturday’s games:— Men’s Section. Trinity met South End at the Park. The game, which was of a high standard, was won by South End by 1 goal to 0, the winning goal being scored by G. F. O’Connor. Referees were Messrs W. Gow and L. Davies. Cambridge A. met and defeated Cambridge B, by 9 goals to 7. Mr L. Davies controlled the game. Ladies’ Section. In the ladies’ section, Stafford A. defeated Stafford 8., by 9 goals to 8. Messrs W. Gow and W. Hawkey acted as referees. MATCHES TO-MORROW. The following players have been selected to play against Geraldine tomorrow:— A. team (to play at 9.30 a.m.).— Goal, F. Cowles; backs, G. Annear and R. Rennett; halves, E. Hawkey, A. Goodman (captain), C. Henderson; forwards, C. Hailwood, F. O’Connor, G. Hughes, A. Stonyer and Bowie. Emergencies—H. Thomas, McLaughlan, B. Annear. B. team (to play at 10.45 a.m.). — Goal, J. Craig; backs, L. Ball, McLaughlan; halves, S Barnes, H. Thomas (captain), A. Strachan; forwards, Brown, B. Annear, E. Fitzgerald, W. Clark, and Unwin. Emergencies—P. Stewart, E. Dockrill, H. Hughes. Any player unable to play must notify the selector to-day.
