At the inquest into the death of Norman Stephen Bradley, who died after being knocked down by a car at Te Rapa on race day, the Coroner found that a car driven by August Herman Demler was driven negligently, and caused Bradley’s death. Frank Joseph Martin (42), married, a taxi proprietor, of Auckland, was killed when the car he was driving, with two passengers, crashed over a bank near Taupiri last evening, the vehicle being submerged in 15 feet of water. Miss Marjorie Nidd (25 years), niece of the deceased, and Dorothy Lodge (10 years), experienced a miraculous escape, clambering through the window' of the enclosed car.

Tamaono Tuteuruoho, aged forty-three, a farmer at Okato, when his machine struck a tram car on the South Road at New Plymouth at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The street is wide and well lighted, and there is no explanation as to how the accident happened. An inquest was opened on Sunday and adjourned sine die.
