STAR CLUB’S PROTEST.

To the Editor of the “ Timaru Herald.” Sir—lt was with surprise I read in the report of the Rugby Union’s meeting, the Star Club were claiming the match won by Celtic. As an admirer of the Star Club’s activities in the past, in the interests of the game. I must reluctantly express my disappointment at the Club’s recent action. This action, in my opinion, is very unsportsmanlike conduct, and for a Club with such a large membership and support to protest on such a technical point is beyond comprehension. In the interests of true sport, it is to be hoped the Star Club will withdraw their protest.—l am, etc., SPORT.
