Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind moderate to fresh, sounn to south-east ruling; weather unsettled, with an occasional shower likely. Temperatures cold. Outlook for week ending May sth. Wind mainly easterly to southerly; weather more or less unsettled, with fairly frequent showers. Dominion Meteorologist. A depression is now crossing New Zealand, and a cyclone is apparently developing in the northern portion, the centre being north of Cape Maria. Pressure is high at Chatham Islands, and a rather intense anti-cyclone is moving across the south Tasman Sea. Expect winds moderate to strong, northerly at first, north of Greymouth and Kaikoura; but southerlies prevailing thence southwards, and extending northwards over the whole Dominion within 24 hours. Seas rather rough on all the East Coast and south of Cape Egmont; moderate north of Cape Egmont, and improving generally on the West Coast. Weather unsettled generally rain over the North Island, with some heavy falls in the northern and eastern portions shortly; also over the South Island. Thunder in places, and temperatures becoming cooler.
